CHAPTER 20

He makes it hard to garner any sympathy. Not only is he taunting us, the expression on his face clearly says he welcomes a fight. It takes all I have to remain unaffected, when all I want to do is slap him.

I watch from a few steps away as he slams the empty glass on the bar. There’s no telling how many he’s had so far, nor is there any doubt that, along with the pills he just took, he’ll be on his ass soon.

One look toward Ace and Oscar and they are on the move toward him. Trey’s reaction is sluggish until they each grip an arm.

“Be careful with his right side,” I ask, just as Trey spits into Ace’s face. “Get the fuck off me.”

“Come on, man. Let’s get you out of here.”

“I’m not ready to get out of here.” Trey levels me with this glare. “Unless I have an incentive. What do ya say, Lor?” There is no mistaking the anger pulsing through him at the sight of me, simply because I am alive and she isn’t.

“Stop it.”

He glances around and chuckles. “What do you all think? Should I let my ex–fuck buddy help me forget my problems?” The volume of his voice draws every single patron’s attention. My eyes dart around. Sure enough, a few have their phones lifted, including the skank he just screwed minutes before I arrived. I want to wipe the smirk off her face and shove that phone up her ass.

“Okay, buddy, time to leave,” the bartender says, clearly trying to nip the possibility of an exchange in the bud.

Trey attempts to twist himself out of their hold, but after stumbling decides to give up and instead spew more hateful things my way. “Looks like it’s my lucky night. Red here is a pro at sucking cock.”

I feel like I’m naked, exposed to all these judging eyes, and there isn’t a damn thing I can do about it. Trey is in such a state Oscar and Ace practically have to carry him out of the place. Once in the parking lot, Trey’s insults toward me become louder and more crude… asking if Oscar and Ace will watch, asking if they’ll drop their pants to get a turn with me.

Aware that some have followed us out and are still filming this despicable show, I do my best to ignore the attention as I shove my hand in his pockets, one by one looking for some clue to where he’s been staying. He mistakes my physicality, leans in, and sucks on my neck. My body betrays me when the familiarity of having his lips on me sparks a rush of desire.

My fingers hit smooth metal, and I pull the object out just as Trey looks down. “Ah, you found my cock piercing. Keep it as a souvenir, Red.” He snatches it out of my hand and shoves it in my back pocket, his fingers gripping my ass on their way out.

I’m relieved to finally find a key in his pocket, and it points us to a disgusting hotel only a few minutes away.
